Polaris Equine is expanding again! We are a rapidly growing, young ambulatory practice based in the heart of NC. Pittsboro is lucky enough to be within 45min of 4 great cities but has none of the traffic! Mountains and beaches are a reasonable drive in any direction. We need the right third doctor to round out our team, which currently consists of a 2011 MSU grad, a 2016 UGA grad, and three fabulous licensed techs. Our clientele range from first time horse owners to show professionals, with ~15% "other" species for variety (pet ruminants, pigs, camelids, and zoo exotics). We are a close-knit team looking for a clinician who likes to have fun both at and after work and is desirous of a sustainable work life balance. The position is "European Style" -- a salaried 4-day work week with alternating 3-day weekends off and 3 weeks paid time off in your first year. 60 days of guaranteed maternity leave, CE stipend, liability insurance, and health insurance are among additional compensation package perks. You will be provided with a company SUV and gasoline card, an experienced veterinary technician, and our fun tools- Sonosite ultrasounds, wireless DRs, Terafloats, upper airway endoscope, stall side PRP, lactometer, and in-house CBC/Chemistry machines. On call will be an honest 33% split evenly between all doctors (owners and associates alike). We are looking for another 'right fit' for our work family, so the position is flexible in waiting for the ideal candidate. Experience is preferred, and chiropractic certification would be further welcomed. Mentorship is available regardless of your level of experience. Salary is commensurate with experience, starting at the minimum of 70K.
Think you want to do Equine / Large animal ambulatory, but need a bit of extra support? We love to teach and routinely mentor veterinary students of different experience levels. Our two doctors combined have worked in GA, TN, CA, FL, MI, IL, NC, Australia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Botswana. If there’s a way to do a procedure you’ve never heard about - we have tried it! Housing, license fees, health insurance, and a 50K salary are all part of the package we are offering to ease you into the industry. We are passionate about encouraging young veterinarians into equine field medicine and preventing burnout, so this will not be your traditional "used and abused" internship. The curriculum will be catered to your individual needs and career goals.
