IAG Performance is an established, market- leading manufacturer of aftermarket products for Subaru vehicles. We are currently seeking a full time Engine Builder to work in our Engine manufacturing facility on our Westminster, MD Campus.
Summary: Assembly of high performance automotive engines, either to a short-block or long-block as well as cylinder head assembly. Direction of building, modification, and testing of vehicle engines.
Successful candidate will:
Tear down, build, fine tune and test Subaru engines (short and long - blocks) to improve gasoline and engine power efficiency: take and record measurements, blueprint and prototype new components.
Operate lathe and mill, boring and honing equipment, cylinder head build equipment and inspection equipment to build engines and components to specification.
Work with the engine dynamometer group to perform test activities on engines under designated conditions.
Assist in instrumentation of engine with various sensors and installation of engine into DYNO test cell.
Maintain a clean work area as well as an inventory of engine components and consumables required for the job. Source required parts and work with the parts team to procure items for upcoming projects.
Operate CNC machinery to include Centroid, HAAS, Serdi, Newen, and Sunnen.
Use precision measurement devices such as calipers, dial bore indicators, and micrometers.

High School diploma or general education degree. (GED)
Minimum of 3+ years tearing down, designing, installing, building and testing automotive engines.
Must have an understanding of engines and knowledge of turbocharging (Subaru engine experience highly desired)
Must be able to read and interpret engine blueprints as well as have a working knowledge of proper set up of precision measurement equipment.
Must be familiar with engine and chassis dynamometers, and have a knowledge of race engine tuning and an enthusiasm for automotive high performance.
Must have the ability to read / and or write, analyze, interpret, and create engineering documents, technical drawings, business correspondence, technical specifications and test results.
Must be able to lift / move 75+ lbs.
Candidates must be able to work independently in a fast paced work environment.
