Indian Hills Golf Club (IHGC) is currently accepting Cover Letters and Resumes for the position of Head Mechanic. We are searching for individuals that are looking for 30-40hrs/week, year-round. We encourage anyone with interest to apply including: Assistant Superintendents, Assistant-in-Trainings, Interns, Assistant Mechanics, Head Mechanics, anyone with a knack for working with small engines and equipment. Training for grinding/sharpening cutting units specific to golf course maintenance can be provided by the IHGC.
The Head Mechanic’s priorities and responsibilities include: Report to the Golf Course Superintendent daily and regularly communicate with the Golf Course Owner and Golf Course Staff about overall fleet maintenance, operation, requirements, troubleshooting, and repair. Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical problems on diesel, electric, and gasoline powered equipment. Keep accurate records of parts purchased, installed, and serviced. Purchase gas, oil, and other necessary equipment/shop supplies.
Ability to communicate effectively with entire golf course staff
Strong organizational habits, team work ethic, willingness to learn, and positive attitude
Ensure all blades/reels are cutting correctly by performing on-course checks
Financially responsible and aware of shop/equipment purchases
Golf course experience is preferred but not required
Additional Salary Information: Competitive hourly rate. This can vary greatly dependent on candidates experience with golf course equipment maintenance and hours seeking to work. We are accepting a wide range of applicants and can discuss wages with interested candidates individually.
About Indian Hills Golf Club
IHGC is a private golf club with an 18-hole regulation course designed by Don Herfort located just West of Stillwater, MN. The club will be celebrating its 50th year during the 2021 season. IHGC possesses an exciting future with the continued grow-in and grand opening of 3-new holes that will tie into the original routing. The new holes, designed by Garrett Gill, will be replacing ones that were permanently damaged due to flooding.
