The turf equipment technician is responsible for helping maintain the quality and playability of the golf course by keeping equipment in excellent condition. The mechanic will perform repairs on gasoline, diesel and electric powered equipment under the general direction of the Superintendent.
Responsibilities:
Conduct preventative maintenance program with operators to reduce damage to the golf course
Repair all equipment, golf carts and member owned private carts
Keep repair and maintenance records on all equipment with the assistance of the Superintendent
Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical problems for all equipment
Set cutting heights, sharpen blades on cutting units and grind reels and bedknives
Assist with part ordering
Maintain a clean and organized shop
Monitor fuel tank
Assure proper disposal of all hazardous materials
Minimum 3 years Mechanic experience
Knowledge of small engine repair
Proper and safe use of equipment and tools
Ability to inspect equipment and related components
Must be highly motivated, goal driven and a self-starter
Must have good communication skills
Must be able to work independently and maintain an equipment maintenance schedule
