FCP Euro catalog managers are at the heart of connecting our customers to the products and solutions they need to maintain their vehicles. The BMW Catalog Manager will be responsible for ensuring the proper creation and management of our digital BMW product and fitment catalog. The BMW Catalog Manager will ensure that FCP Euro can connect customers to quality, relevant products through the creation of accurate and intuitive digital content that simultaneously delivers on set KPIs and financial performance metrics.
The BMW Catalog Manager position is a full-time, exempt salaried position located at the FCP Euro headquarters in Milford, CT. The BMW Catalog Manager role resides within the Catalog & Product Department and reports directly to the Director of Catalog.
Responsibilities & Duties

Research and identify products that meet, or exceed the needs of the BMW product portfolio for a variety of BMW vehicle owners from the purest, to the enthusiast, to the daily driver.

Bring new products to life digitally by creating product SKUs, titles, descriptions; applying proper year, make, model fitment, and additional product information using FCP Euro’s PIM tool.

Maintain the digital health of new and existing products as their data and availability change by updating titles, descriptions, country of origin, availability, digital assets, and more.

Collaborate and align the efforts of the BMW catalog with various department initiatives which include, but are not limited to, Fulfillment, Inventory, and Marketing to ensure there is alignment across the organization for the BMW offering.

Develop, and execute an annual BMW-specific catalog expansion and optimization strategy that aligns with the broader catalog and organizational strategy. In addition, contributing to the overall 5-year catalog strategy in regards to the contribution BMW can, and will make in the long-term vision and strategy of the organization.

Manage the week-over-week P&L financial performance of the BMW make by setting, and ensuring individual product and kit revenue, margin, and gross profit goals are achieving or exceeding budget. Creating and mitigating financial misses in performance before they impact the organization will be critical.

Gather both qualitative and quantitative data, and collate the data into meaningful insights and actions to drive the BMW catalog in a relevant direction that services the customer, and meets financial budgets.
Compensation and Benefits
The BMW Catalog Manager role is an exempt salaried role, compensated annually at a rate of $70,000 -$85,000 based on experience.

Qualifications & Skills

Expert knowledge of the BMW brand and all associated products. Understanding of BMW’s market position compared to other European makes, and across the general Automotive Aftermarket. Know all BMW models and chassis codes from 1980 to current. Understand what ownership and the BMW experience is like. Know the typical behaviors, habits, likes, interests, and engagements of the general BMW ownership community from the enthusiasts to the daily driver.

Expert knowledge of BMW product brands across the Automotive Aftermarket and OE space relational to quality. Know the brands that resonate with the BMW owner. Know brand quality tiers, and brands that are OE on BMW. Know the general part types that popular BMW brands manufacture/sell. Understand the difference between Genuine, OE, and Aftermarket as it relates to BMW. Have a general knowledge and awareness of brands across the Automotive Aftermarket beyond BMW.

Mid-level knowledge of automotive vehicle systems and repairs, general and specific to BMW. Have owned and/or had experience with basic to mildly complex repairs on various BMW models. General understanding of how ICE and EV vehicle systems function. Know vehicle systems that are specific to BMW and how they function. Know typical failures of BMW-specific vehicle systems.

Expert-level knowledge of the Auto Care ACES & PIES data standards with an entry to mid-level knowledge of the TecAlliance TecDoc standard. Know the ACES & PIES delivery methods and specs. Have experience with reviewing and analyzing the ACES & PIES reference tables. Know the versions and version history, along with the current versions for ACES & PIES. Understand all of the segments and elements in ACES & PIES. Know what data can, and can not be transmitted through ACES & PIES, and the best practices for the various segments of data. Know the difference between the Auto Care and TecDoc data standards.

Expert level product and fitment data creation utilizing eCommerce best practices. Understand how vehicle configurations work relational to vehicle systems. Know the difference between attributes and qualifiers, and how they are to be applied. Know how parts are classified relational to the ACES & PIES codification. Know how to leverage coded content to create consistent and uniform product listings.

Mid-level knowledge and experience with creating SEO-relevant content that the FCP Euro marketing team can index to create campaigns focused on driving traffic, and improving customer conversion. Know how to create product titles and descriptions that rank high on search indexing. Understand how products get indexed and what content needs to be leveraged to achieve this. Know what content should be applied to what product to be deemed relevant above competitors in search.

Mid-level proficiency in reviewing large amounts of industry and market data that is either self mined, or provided by a trusted source. Experience with taking non-correlated data and making correlations to find insights. Understand basic data structures and the tools used to review the data. Have basic Access query builder experience and Excel pivot table experience.

Team members must be highly organized and objective-driven. Team members are expected to be able to multitask and manage their work to set KPIs. Team members must be able to make progress towards their goals, manage tasks with minimal to no supervision, be process-oriented, and results-driven.

Basic level financial acumen. Have the ability to read and understand a P&L, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows, in addition to ownership of BMW’s financial performance relational to the overall performance of the organization.

Mid-level communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate up, down, and across the organization. Be capable of building alignment across teams and amongst the catalog and product team. Be able to have productive and relevant conversations when they are needed.
Minimum Qualifications
